JAMES
FITZGERALD
Am. 1899-1971

James Fitzgerald was born in Massachusetts and attended the Massachusetts School of Art and the School of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.  After a number of years in Monterey, California, he moved to Rockwell Kent's former home on Monhegan Island.

The James Fitzgerald Legacy at the Monhegan Museum has just released the first volume of its Catalogue Raisonne project entitled "James Fitzgerald: The Drawings and Sketches."

Farnsworth Art Museum - several watercolor paintings of Mt. Katahdin and Maine fishermen.  Several of James Fitzgerald's watercolor paintings of Mount Katahdin are on view at the Farnsworth Art Museum as part of its "on a Mountain in Maine" exhibition which runs through October 7, 2018.
